Stock Picks 2018 - Stay With Quality
Risk appetite is good
- Despite the uncertainty from North Korea and the Middle East, market sentiment is positive largely due to good corporate earnings growth and expectations of the positive spillover effect from a cut in taxes.
Earnings growth is healthy
- With higher stock prices, valuations have gone up and stocks are no longer as cheap as a year ago. However, valuations are not excessive largely due to good corporate earnings growth.
Stick with the quality companies
- As share prices move high, stock selection is critical. In Singapore, we continue to have a bias for the property sector.
- While most of our 2017 property stock picks have performed well this year, we are retaining our buy rating and our top picks include CapitaLand, City Developments, UOL, Wheelock and Wing Tai.
